Job Description: Pocket Host (Pay-Per-Event)

Are you the life of the party, a natural conversationalist, and someone who loves bringing people together? We are looking for vibrant, confident, and creative individuals to join us as Pocket Hosts.

In this role, you won't just stand on a stage—you will actively shape the vibe of our social gatherings, lead interactive art and craft workshops, manage event logistics on the ground, and ensure every single participant walks away with a memorable experience. Since this is a pay-per-event role, it offers incredible flexibility to match your schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Vibe & Crowd Management: Welcome participants, break the ice, and foster a warm, inclusive, and highly energetic atmosphere where strangers easily connect.
  • Workshop Facilitation: Confidently lead hands-on creative activities (such as painting, DIY crafts, or interactive games), guiding participants of all skill levels with patience and clarity.
  • Event Logistics: Manage on-ground event flow, from checking in attendee lists to coordinating materials, seating arrangements, and timing.
  • Public Speaking & Engagement: Command the attention of groups ranging from 15 to 50+ people, ensuring everyone stays engaged and entertained throughout the session.
  • Problem Solving: Handle real-time event hiccups (e.g., managing material shortages or assisting anxious/introverted participants) with grace and a smile.

Must Have

  • Radiant Confidence: Exceptional communication and public speaking skills. You must be comfortable being the center of attention and directing a crowd.
  • Strong Social Intelligence: A natural ability to read the room, spark conversations with strangers, and make introverts feel included.
  • Creative Aptitude: Basic to intermediate knowledge of arts, crafts, or recreational activities, with the ability to teach or guide others.
  • Flawless Punctuality: Absolute reliability regarding event timings and preparation.
  • High Energy: The stamina to maintain an enthusiastic, positive attitude for the entire duration of a 2 to 4-hour event.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in emceeing, anchoring, event hosting, or theater/performing arts.
  • An active interest or background in competitive debating, public speaking, or community building.
  • A strong personal portfolio of art, painting, or unique DIY craft projects.
  • Proactive crisis-management skills—the ability to stay calm when things don't go exactly as planned.
